Highlighting India’s digital transformation, the Prime Minister traced the country’s journey from the challenges of 2G to widespread 5G coverage across most districts. He hailed the launch of the Made-in-India 4G Stack as a landmark achievement that places India among only a few nations capable of developing such advanced technology.

“India Mobile Congress and the nation’s success in telecom reflect the strength of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision,” Modi said, crediting the youth, startups, and innovators for driving this transformation. He added that India’s low data costs have made digital access more affordable than ever, accelerating inclusion, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The Prime Minister noted that India is now the world’s second-largest telecom and 5G market, supported by both scale and skill. He said the new Telecommunications Act provides a modern, facilitative framework that enhances ease of doing business. “This is the best time to invest, innovate, and make in India,” he declared.

Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia said India’s next goal is 6G leadership, aiming to capture 10% of global patents and achieve a threefold expansion of the satellite communications industry by 2033.

Organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), IMC 2025 runs from October 8–11 under the theme “Innovate to Transform.” The event brings together over 400 companies, 7,000 delegates, and 1.5 lakh visitors from more than 150 countries, cementing its position as Asia’s largest platform for digital technology and innovation.
