RiseIndia’s electronics exports jumped over 47% year-on-year to $12.4 billion (₹1,08,450 crore) in the April-June quarter of FY 2025-26, up from $8.43 billion (₹73,729 crore) in Q1 FY25, according to data from the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA).
Mobile phone exports led the charge with a 55% surge to $7.6 billion (₹66,470 crore), while non-mobile categories like solar modules, networking devices, charger adapters, and electronic parts grew 37% to $4.8 billion (₹41,981 crore).
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal hailed the growth as a “sweet success story” for Make in India, noting electronics production expanded from $31 billion in FY15 to $133 billion in FY25.
The sector now boasts over 300 mobile manufacturing units—up from just two in 2014—positioning India as the world’s second-largest mobile phone producer and creating millions of jobs, especially for youth and women.
ICEA projects FY26 exports to hit $46-50 billion, building on FY25’s $38.6 billion from $29.1 billion in FY24, with calls for stronger local supply chains and Indian brands to sustain momentum.
Top destinations include the US, UAE, China, Netherlands, and Germany, reflecting India’s deepening integration into global value chains.
