The initiative is a collaboration between Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Petronas, and Terengganu Inc, aligning with the country’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap (HETR).
The Kenyir HHFS project will combine hydro and floating solar to provide round-the-clock renewable power, while the Green Hydrogen Hub will produce hydrogen and derivatives like green ammonia and green methanol. These efforts aim to position Malaysia as a regional leader in green energy and create new economic opportunities in the Terengganu-Kertih Corridor.
By tapping into renewable power, advanced grid infrastructure, and Petronas’ expertise in energy, the project supports Malaysia’s decarbonization goals and strengthens its role in the ASEAN clean energy ecosystem.
